HI! I’M COLLETTE SIMMONS.
Someone somewhere once said that pictures are worth a thousands words. I thought this might be a nice way to introduce myself to you without having to actually write a thousand words to do it. As you can see, I’m a short-haired brunette girl. I have a passion for travel & adventure, love for the arts & culture, and a dream of living a kind of lifestyle that will let me be free enough to enjoy it. In this picture above, I’m exploring the smallest of the Aran Islands off the western coast of Ireland named Inisheer. The magnificent miles and miles of stone walls behind me are truly a labyrinth of adventure.
Now, I’m riding along the Seine towards Notre Dame with a highly recommended bicycle tour company called Bike About Tours. They are excellent for getting a layout of the city of Paris when first starting your travels there. My trip to Paris was for my birthday. I use my birthday as an excuse to travel each year. It’s a great way to be sure I visit at least one dream travel destination every 12 months. Who knows where I will be come May?
Here I’m in the Cairngorm Mountains in Scotland nearly being blown away by the most amazing wind (which happends to be my favorite natural phenomenon too). It was unbelievable. I felt more alive and free than I’ve ever felt before. I imagine it must be like parashuting out of an airplane…which I have yet to do…
Now, I’m on horseback in Costa Rica heading from the beach into the jungle. Fortunately, I had a sweet horse who knew which way to go because I was surely lost. Oh, and I can still remember the intimidating sounds of the howler monkeys in the jungle. What an unforgettable adventure!
This is my mother and I on a seadoo in Turks and Caicos. She’s got a bit of the adventure bug in her too. Thankfully, she was sweet enough to let me drive for a bit and get my speeding thrill slicing through the water.
And finally, after all the fun above, this has been the biggest part of my life until recently. That’s me in the fishnet shirt and purple bra standing in front of the Tony Award winner Beth Level. I performed on Broadway in the cast of Mamma Mia! for a little over five years. It’s been an amazing adventure in itself, but now it’s time to move on to the next big adventure. The whole world has been calling me to keep on dancing and moving, so I have to go and follow another dream…a dream to travel. I’ve much to see and do. This is just the beginning. Join me on this great journey and explore the world with me at Flashpackerlife.com!
Thanks so much and enjoy!
